About HeruMaakhet NebShakara
Baba HeruMaakhet Ojegbile Neb-Shakara is a culturalist, ancestral priest, coach, and educator who serves as the Founder and CEO of Ancestral Egbe and Head Priest of the Pan African Ancestral Egbe. Based in New Jersey, his work is dedicated to building a self-sustaining spiritual and cultural community for the African Diaspora, emphasizing collective economics and responsibility through a Pan-African lens.
His educational credentials are substantial: joint undergraduate degrees in Philosophy and Information Systems from Rutgers University, a Master's degree in Information Systems from NJIT with a graduate certification in Disaster Management, further graduate work in education administration, and a New Jersey professional teaching license with endorsements in Mathematics, Economics, and Social Studies. He has taught and led community classes and workshops for years, co-founding the Pan African Egbe in 2012 to address the lack of ancestral rites and rituals in the greater Northeast region.
